10. Kenja no Mago

Merlin Wolford is a national hero acclaimed for his brilliant use of magic in saving the realm. After his achievements, he has decided to retire to a peaceful life and live with his family. He adopts a boy named Shin, and as it turns out, Shin was a salaryman in his previous life but it’s something he keeps to himself. Not to mention he doesn’t think much of his previous life either, so it’s better left unmentioned.

Under the tutelage of Merlin, Shin becomes a brilliant magician capable of spells far above what his age is usually capable of. However, that focus on nothing but magic for the past 15 years has left Shin bereft of social skills and common sense. The awkwardness is doubled because of his reputation as the nephew of the greatest living mage.

So, to improve his social skills, he joined a magic school called Advanced Magic Academy. This is a fun isekai with a nice mix of slice-of-life school-fun and high-stakes action. So, if you’re down for that, then it’s a great anime choice.

08. Trinity Seven

The core story of Trinity Seven is about a young boy who can’t get enough of his childhood friend who suddenly disappeared and left the MC on a mission to find her. Our MC Arata Kasuga possesses a powerful grimoire. Unaware of his power living an ordinary life.

Arata’s life changes when an unexplained breakdown phenomenon happens that wipes out the entire city and creates a small world of its own. The plot may seem like a good Sci-Fi theme but that’s the only Sci-Fi part the story had.

Apart from that, everything is filled with fan service. Later, the MC meets Lilith and enrolls him in Royal Biblia Academy’s magic school. The seven big names rule the school called the trinity seven and all of them are girls.

If you are looking for magic school anime with an OP MC and lots of fan service, then Trinity Seven is the show for you.

02. Charlotte

Many persons with various supernatural talents can be found on Tokyo’s crowded streets. Most of them are students who are using their abilities for personal gain. Our MC Yu Otosaka thinks that his only ability is to project his consciousness into someone else’s body.

He mostly uses it to cheat on tests and mess with other people. Things change when he meets Nao Tomori, who introduces him to a whole new world. She forced our MC to enroll in Hoshinoumi Academy, where the MC realizes that his powers are actually far more substantial than he had imagined.

From the surface, the MC may seem weak, but you all know why he is overpowered as the story progresses. It’s a beautiful magic school anime with a little touch of romance.

01. Jujutsu Kaisen

We have got ghosts, spirits, curses, overpowered mentors, and everything you can ask from a shounen anime. It’s no wonder that this anime tops our list of the top magic school anime series with an OP MC. Our protagonist Yuji Itadori has the potential to tame the beast’s spirit of Sukuna. So, after eating one of his fingers, our MC was left with two choices.

Either become a jujutsu sorcerer and help them fight against other evil spirits or become a victim of them. Yuji has a strong sense of justice but no sense of using a brain. In a series of events, he gets attacked by powerful curses and demons. So, to protect his friend, he trained himself and joined Tokyo Jujutsu High School.

The series is a must-watch for all shounen fans not because of the story but because of MAPPA’s awesome animation and the efforts they had to put in to make this visually pleasant to watch.
