10. Unbreakable Machine-Doll

Unbreakable Machine-Doll is set in a world where magical wizards command dolls that resemble humans. In the future where people have learned how to build robots that behave and think like people.

Raishin Akabane is in a challenging circumstance. He and his doll partner Yaya had failed the school entrance exam, which prevented them from fulfilling his dream of competing in an academy tournament.

Raishin now has to defeat the academy’s top 100 students. He challenges Charlotte and her partner Sigmund, but when Sigmund is attacked by an unidentified entity, things go wrong.

Both anime feature an MC with “subpar skills”. He is aided by a gorgeous sidekick who also happens to be very powerful.

9. Blade Dance of the Elementalers

Fans of Vermeil in Gold are sure to appreciate the blend of magic with fanservice that Blade Dance of the Elementalers offers. On top of that, in both anime, humans make contracts with fantasy creatures. Our MC ends up forming a contract with a beautiful girl as a result.

The anime takes place in a magical world where women and girls are the only ones who can form contracts with spirits and employ them as various weapons of different forms and uses, more often known as elemental weapons.

The only male elementaler in the area enrolls in a prestigious school to learn how to utilize elemental spirits in order to accomplish a duty that the school’s headmistress has assigned.

8. Dragonar Academy

Another anime like Vermeil in Gold is Dragonar Academy. A magical school setting, summoning a familiar who turns out to be a stunning OP female, and even fanservice/ecchi scenes are all clear similarities between the two.

Ash attends the Ansalivan Dragon Academy, which is a school for kids who have contracts with dragons. Although he carries the “star mark,” the contract symbol, he doesn’t appear important because his companion hasn’t been born yet. An incident causes the dragon he is raising inside of his body to awaken, and it manifests as a young girl.

7. The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious

This series will start airing at the end of July 2022, so stay tuned! From what we know by far, it seems like it’s going to be a rom-com with a busty servant who has romantic tension with her master. I get a strong feeling that it’s going to be a similar anime to Vermeil in Gold from this fact alone!

In this everyday wacky romantic comedy, the plot centers on the relationship between the cautious Yuuri and his incredibly endearing maid.

6. Call of the Night

In the same vein as Vermeil in Gold, Call of Night also explores the relationship between an ordinary boy and an “underworld” being who is more mature & older.

In Call of the Night, Ko Yamori quits attending school and begins to spend the nights walking the streets since he cannot get any rest or find true fulfillment in his life. He encounters Nazuna Nanakusa, a vampire who demonstrates to Ko the pleasures of being a nightwalker. Ko wants to become a vampire because of this. But to do so, he must first fall in love with her!

5. Kanokon

Kanokon revolves around Kouta, a boy who is having a youkai issue. Someone might say, a good one. He is being encircled by adoring female youkai for some reason, preying on the defenseless boy who is simply trying to live a normal high school life.

The anime is cut from the same cloth as Vermeil in Gold. Not only they are both supernatural ecchi anime, but they also have an otherworldly gorgeous supernatural girl trying to seduce the male MC.

4. Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid

For fans who enjoyed the shy young boy x mature woman element, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid won’t disappoint. Two of the recurring supporting characters tell a story exactly like that: a young magician attempts to summon a familiar, but the familiar turns out to be an attractive, voluptuous older girl who’ll also live with him. This causes all sorts of awkward & tense situations.

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid normally follows the adventures of a mischievous dragon who serves as a maid for an office worker.

3. My Sister Came, Onee-chan

For fans who enjoy the shouta x onee-san theme, My Sister Came, Onee-chan is a less serious, older cousin of Vermeil in Gold.

Tomoya Mizuhara, a 13-year-old kid, is the protagonist of the story. When his father remarries, he unexpectedly gains a big sister. Ichika, who is 17 years old, is a little odd and her love for Tomoya is overwhelming, if not frightening. In addition, Ichika’s pal Ruri is the cruelest person alive. Then there is Marina, a quarter-Japanese acquaintance of Ichika with a large bust.

2. Miss Caretaker of Sunohara-sou

Based on a manga series about the shouta x onee-san coupling, both anime are romantic comedies. They contain similar ecchi fanservice and wild fantasies involving older girls. Sunohara, however, takes a slice-of-life harem approach, while Vermeil in Gold is set at a magical school with a dash of action.

The protagonist of Miss Caretaker of Sunohara-sou struggles with how to be a man. So, he’s on his way to Tokyo to live with three female classmates and his curvy carer!

1. The Familiar of Zero

An incompetent mage summons a young man from modern-day Japan as her familiar, and hilarity ensues.

Like Vermeil in Gold, The Familiar of Zero has a protagonist who attends a magical academy where one of the criteria is that each student needs to summon a familiar. Despite this, the MC had repeatedly failed to do so until one appeared; however, this familiar is not a familiar; rather, it is a person with whom they develop a relationship. Both series fit into the magic, school, and ecchi genres.
