7. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

Let’s say you really want an anime with wholesome comedy, an overpowered main character (who gets isekai’d to a fantasy world), and also cute waifus here and there. Here you go, it’s time for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime!

In this series, an average 37-year-old corporate worker dies after being stabbed to death by a passing robber and reincarnates as a genderless slime in a fantasy world.

6. Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody

Ichirou Suzuki is a programmer nearing his thirties who one day after falling asleep wakes up trapped in a fantasy world that is a combination of the MMORPG games he was debugging previously in real life. Except for the change of his name, which becomes Satou, he is also having an appearance of his younger, 15-year-old self.

Without having time to think of what happened, Satou gets attacked by an army of lizardmen, forcing him to instinctively use his ability. To his surprise, he wipes them completely and his level is boosted to 310, maximizing his stats. Now, with no way to return to reality and overpowered stats, Satou embarks on a journey to explore this new magical world.

The Fruit of Evolution and Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody are cut from the same cloth. Both series feature a protagonist transported to a fantasy world with RPG game elements and also they both somehow become overpowered very soon after.

5. How Not to Summon a Demon Lord

How Not to Summon a Demon Lord is another isekai anime series similar to The Fruit of Evolution.

Takuma Sakamoto is a shut-in gamer who is unmatched in an MMORPG game called Cross Reverie, having a gaming identity of the Demon King Diablo.

One day, he ends up summoned to a fantasy world with the appearance of the Demon King from Cross Reverie. The two beautiful ladies who had summoned him try to perform an Enslavement Ritual that backfires and the two become his slaves instead. After getting to know them a little, he decides to accompany them on a journey to unbind the slave contract.

4. KonoSuba

Sweet, oh sweet KonoSuba.

I know I probably recommend this anime too much but I literally can’t help it. KonoSuba had me looking like a face with tears of joy emoji. And it’s similar to The Fruit of Evolution since it’s an isekai series filled with comedy.

In KonoSuba, a teen boy dies a shameful death and is brought before the goddess Aqua who offers him a new life with his memory intact. However, there is one catch—he will be reincarnated in a magical world with the task of defeating the demon lord!

3. So I’m a Spider, So What?

The series follows Kumoko as she’s reincarnated as a spider (literally the title). But she’s not the only one! It seems that her entire class has also been isekai’d!

The setting is literally the same—a fantasy RPG-like world where the students end up isekai’d to, and the MC starts off as a complete weakling. Luckily, the MC evolves into an OP character!

2. Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest

Hajime Nagumo, an ordinary 17-year-old otaku, gets summoned to a fantasy world along with his classmates. They are tasked with saving mankind and all except him are gifted with powerful abilities. After getting betrayed on an expedition by his classmate, he ends up barely surviving the fall to a deep abyss where all kinds of monstrous creatures reside.

Desperate to survive he does not give in and eventually bumps into Yue, an imprisoned vampire, and a bunch of others who are also seeking to escape the labyrinth. And thus, the journey to survive and return back home begins.

As you can already tell, they both start off the same: students are transported to a fantasy world and the only one who is weak is the protagonist, shunned by the others. In a turn of coincidental events, the protagonist will become OP and also get his cute waifu.

1. Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy

Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy is an isekai that premiered in July 2021, so it’s pretty fresh as well.

In this series, a young boy is forcefully transported to another world but instead of becoming a hero from the start, the crappy goddess strips him of the role of a hero and drops him at the edge of her world!

You get the chill & comedic vibes from this isekai anime, like from The Fruit of Evolution. And don’t worry, both protagonists end up OP and surrounded by beauties who were previously ‘monsters’ but turned into humans.
