10. Chibi Vampire Karin

Karin is an unusual vampire girl who injects her blood into victims rather than sucking their blood. This is because she overproduces blood and it makes her sick. There is no drawback to her blood injections because those who receive them are significantly happier and more active than they were previously. She manages to conceal this aspect of her life thanks to her capacity to change people’s memories, but her recently transferred classmate Kenta swiftly develops a heightened sense of suspicion over her actions.

The central topic of Call of the Night is human-vampire love, which is also a significant theme in the love-comedy show Chibi Vampire Karin.

9. In/Spectre

For fans of wholesome supernatural romance, In/Spectre won’t disappoint. Like Call of the Night’s heroine, the In/Spectre’s female MC introduces the boy to supernatural phenomena and he accompanies her.

The MC is Kotoko Iwanage, a young girl who appears to be normal but is anything but. She began acting as a mediator between the spirit and the material world when she was 11 years old. Youkai contact her if they have a problem they want to fix.

Kurou Sakuragawa, on the other hand, is a 22-year-old university student who recently ended his relationship. When Kotoko sees the potential to get closer to Kurou since she wants to marry him one day, she acts right away.

She quickly understands that Kurou is very knowledgeable and can be of great assistance in resolving the numerous issues brought on by the supernatural, leading to their partnership, while she still has hopes of persuading Kurou to reciprocate her feelings.

8. Noragami

Call of the Night and Noragami both tell a supernatural shounen tale in a lighthearted manner with a dash of romance.

The series follows Yato, a self-proclaimed “Delivery God” who wishes to be worshipped by a large number of people. However, because he is not a well-known divinity, he lives a mundane existence doing different menial duties. When Yato meets Hiyori Iki, a middle school girl, his destiny is changed forever.

7. Vermeil in Gold

The series’ lead character is Alto Goldfield, a student at a magical school who wants to master all magic. He finds an old summoning grimoire just as he is about to fail a summoning magic class and face a year’s suspension. Alto follows the instructions to inscribe a magic circle, and as a result, he summons a powerful demon named Vermeil who has been sealed for a long time and makes her his familiar.

The sensuous Vermeil, on the other hand, wants magical energy from Alto on occasion, which she claims by kissing him passionately.

Like Call of the Night, Vermeil in Gold has an older “thirsty” supernatural woman as the main love interest of the MC.

6. Devils Line

Devil’s Line is another vampire anime like Call of the Night which connects an ordinary human with a supernatural entity in a romantic way.

One day, a college student named Tsukasa Taira is attacked by a vampire; fortunately for her, Yuuki Anzai, a half-human, half-vampire, saves her just in time. Soon after, Tsukasa and Yuuki’s challenging relationship begins, and Yuuki must also solve a crucial dilemma: can he resist his vampire cravings to devour Tsukasa while trying to become closer to her?

5. Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut

Fans who dig the vampire-human romance in Call of Night will love the underappreciated anime Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut.

Set in an alternate 1960s, two major superpowers—the Zirnitra Union and the United Kingdom of Arnack—compete for the first successful human spaceflight. The Zirnitra Union seems to have one major advantage: they train a vampire as a cosmonaut!

4. Night World, Night Country

Night World, Night Country is a 3 part story about a mysterious avian being called Yoru who inhabits the world of the night. Sometimes, people get magically transported to this world while sleeping. He then helps out the people in their misfortunes and brings them towards a more lit path in life.

I am pretty sure you have noticed how enchanting the night world can be in Call of Night. You can enjoy this imagery fully in Night World, Night Country even though it doesn’t share many other themes with Call of Night.

3. Vlad Love

Vlad Love also tackles human-vampire romance but in a way wackier way than Call of the Night, so keep that in mind.

In this anime, a vampire girl enrolls in a school for the first time and befriends humans.

2. The Case Study of Vanitas

The Case Study of Vanitas shares the sensual human-vampire romance concept of Call of the Night despite being set in a different era and having an entirely different plot.

Scorned by others of his kind for being born under a blue moon, the vampire Vanitas grew afraid and desolate. According to legend, he created a cursed grimoire known as the “Book of Vanitas,” and it is said he would one day use it to bring retribution upon all vampires of the crimson moon.

In 19th century Paris, Noé Archiviste is searching for the fabled Book of Vanitas. Whilst traveling aboard an airship, he is saved from a vampire attack by an eccentric doctor who calls himself Vanitas and carries the very tome he seeks. Ironically, the self-proclaimed vampire specialist is a mere human who inherited both his name and the book from his master, the same Vanitas of legend. As the odd case of the Charlatan’s Parade crops up, the doctor’s ability to restore sanity to vampires by recovering their true name will prove most beneficial.

1. Bakemonogatari

Perhaps the most similar anime to Call of Night is Bakemonogatari. Like Call of Night, Bakemonogatari is a supernatural romance story that will keep you wanting more each episode. They both present a premise where an ordinary boy gets roped into the supernatural world by an eccentric girl.

On top of that, they even share similarities in how they handle dialogue, themes, art style, animation, transitions, and camera work. All this despite being made by different studios.

Koyomi Araragi, the main male character in Bakemonogatari is a third-grade high schooler. What makes him unique is the fact that he has supernatural powers that result from an attack by a vampire.

Then, one day, a classmate named Hitagi Senjougahara slips down the staircase. There is nothing serious happening since Koyomi can catch her before she is injured. Koyomi is shocked at the fact that Hitagi appears to be weightless. He believes that there is a supernatural cause and offers his assistance to Hitagi but she refuses. After constant pressure, she accepts his help.

As the series develops we can see more characters suffering from supernatural issues and Koyomi is determined to assist them. This is the core of the plot.

  1. I don’t know…just having a vampire doesn’t really make a show like Call of the Night. If you ask me, the shows it most resembles, at least so far, are FLCL, first and foremost, and to a lesser extent, Mysterious Girlfriend X.

  2. bakemonogatari não tem nada a ver com call of the night. mas é uma novel absurdamente incrível. toda a serie monogatari. mega recomedo.
