8 Anime Like Beast Tamer You Should Watch

Beast Tamer is a Fall 2022 harem anime made by EMT Squared (Love Tyrant, Assassins Pride, Yuusha Yamemasu). Fans are praising it mainly for its simplicity, lightness, and sweetness. Due to this, no wonder they are looking for more anime like Beast Tamer (Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou sareta Beast Tamer, Saikyoushu no Nekomimi Shoujo to Deau) with the same elements.

The anime is a cookie-cutter fantasy show that starts with the underappreciated MC getting banished from the hero’s party for being useless in their eyes.

Not too long after, he meets a cat spirit and forms a contract with her, learning that he is an immensely powerful beast tamer. They set off on an adventure together and meet more demi-human girls to “tame” in the process.

Let’s get started!

8. In Another World With My Smartphone

So let’s say you want a fantasy anime with a kind MC who has a harem-like party filled with beauties. Then this anime is exactly what you are looking for!

The MC, Touya, is hit by thunder and dies. Now, that is a massive and stupid error from none other than God himself. As a result, he decides to give Touya a second chance at life but unfortunately, he can’t be sent back to the world he lived in. Instead, he gets sent to another magical world, and of course, God makes up for his mistake by blessing him with magical powers and skills to help him survive in this world.

Following his entry into the world, he meets some girls and forms a guild, where he can obtain job missions to support himself.

7. Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!

Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?! is another fantasy anime with cute girls like Beast Timer.

It centers on Miles, also known as “Adele Von Ascham,” a young woman who, after being struck by the infamous truck-kun in real life, was resurrected in a fantasy realm where her aim was to make her stats average because she wants to live a regular, simple life. At least in part, her request is granted.

However, she is still 6800 times more powerful than even the most exceptional humans in this world since “average” takes into consideration the power of both the strongest and the weakest magical creatures.

6. BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.

BOFURI is a relaxing fantasy series with a character whose abilities are underestimated but later revealed to be OP.

The anime centers around Maple, a teenage girl who joins New World Online, a new VRMMO game. As she plays the game, she realizes that she detests getting hurt in any way. Hence, she spends all of her skill points on defense. And as is customary with isekai/VRMMO, she becomes way too overpowered as a result.

Sally, a friend of hers, later joins her and they both embark on adventures in the thrilling world of New World Online.

5. Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody

Similar to Beast Tamer, Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody is a fantasy anime with a kind-hearted MC and kawaii girls who fawn over him. But it’s definitely not for everyone, mainly if you are looking for a solid shounen/action anime. It could be an enjoyable watch for harem fans, though.

The main character is your typical MC: he does good deeds, helps people out of the blue, and is insanely OP. To elaborate, after a brief period of struggle, he physically levels up over 300 levels, maxes out his skills, gains an endless supply of money, and acquires a harem. Also a warning: there is a lot of lolis!

4. Drug Store in Another World: The Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist

It’s much more enticing than one might imagine for an isekai show to run a shop instead of embarking on a big adventure or saving the world. But this slow life is enriched by the MC being surrounded by a harem.

Drug Store in Another World: The Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist focuses on regular, calm activities in a rural setting, with minor issues that the characters encounter being resolved with the use of fantasy medicine.

3. Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest

For fans of Beast Tamer who liked the betrayal followed by the MC becoming OP and building his own powerful harem, Arifureta is a perfect fit.

Hajime Nagumo, a 17-year-old otaku, finds it difficult to adjust after being abruptly isekaied with his classmates to the fantasy realm of Tortus. Although he is viewed as weak and vulnerable by his peers, he is forced to learn how to survive alone in the abyss after being betrayed by a classmate who intentionally pushed him there to kill him.

Hajime eventually learns that consuming the meat of monsters leads him to level up and acquire new, immensely potent skills. As a side consequence, Hajime’s hair turns white and he gains a lot of muscle; as Arifureta progresses, he completely transforms, both mentally and physically.

2. I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level

Azusa Aizawa passes away from overwork and receives the isekai therapy. But rather than seeking OP abilities or superpowers, she decides that all she wants is a serene and comfortable life, and who can blame her? We can all connect to Azusa’s desires since we would all want that.

But Azusa has been killing 25 slimes every day for years, and as a result, she has maxed out her level, making her the strongest being around. Subsequently, her quiet life won’t last for as long as she planned…

Like Beast Tamer, this anime centers on the OP main character who lives in a fantasy world. They like the quiet and laid-back style of life while they travel and make new acquaintances along the way. The ambiance is cheerful, upbeat, and vibrant.

Both are very wholesome shows with cute girls, basically slice-of-life with the occasional action.

1. Banished From The Hero’s Party, I Decided To Live A Quiet Life In The Countryside

Banished From The Hero’s Party is the most similar anime to Beast Tamer.

Like Beast Tamer’s Rein, Red from Banished from The Hero’s Party is kicked from the hero’s party because his powers are deemed useless. They only realize how important his abilities are later when they start struggling. Which, of course, is way too late because he is not only long gone but also focused on his own goals and dreams.

Red is, however, soon joined by a cute and loyal girl who also wants to live a peaceful life alongside him for her own reasons. But his past seems to continuously come back to haunt him…

  1. Out of the list, I’d give banished from the hero’s party a shot. In another world with my smartphone was terrible from just watching an episode.
