Similarities

Interspecies Reviewers was the first fantasy ecchi anime that popped into my head when I thought of a similar anime series to Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi. You can find all kinds of demi-human girls in both. If you mainly enjoyed that aspect of Redo of Healer, this is a perfect choice!

Synopsis

The story is set in a world where various species coexist together and brothels, where all kinds of interspecies girls work, seem to be very prevalent. Furries, birdmaids, octopus-human hybrids, elves, succubuses, fairies… Every species you have ever thought of taking a cute human hybrid form can be found there.

The Yoruno Gloss reviewers are here to enlighten the public and decide once and for all who the monster girl to rule them all is.

5. Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime)

  • Genres: Fantasy, Shounen
  • Episodes: 24

Similarities

Redo of Healer & That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime are both fantasy anime where the male protagonist starts off as a weakling but becomes incredibly overpowered later.

Synopsis

Satoru Mikami is an average 37-year-old corporate worker, living a comfortable but lonely life in Tokyo. One day he is asked for marriage advice from his colleague and decides to meet them on the street, but he is stabbed to death by a passing robber.

On the brink of death, Satoru makes some seemingly senseless requests and gets reincarnated in another world as a slime with the ability called “predator”. The predator’s ability grants him to devour anything and mimic their appearance and abilities.

Satoru meets a sealed dragon named Veldora on his way and the two quickly become friends. Satoru, now known as Rimuru Tempest breaks free from his past life and has a new, noble-minded goal in his mind—free Veldora from his seal whilst facing many challenges in the process.

Similarities

Apart from being classic harem anime, they both have main protagonists who are weak and shunned by their teammates in the beginning.

That changes when they get betrayed, become overpowered, and decide to turn on their former teammates.

Synopsis

Hajime Nagumo, an ordinary 17-year-old otaku, gets summoned to a fantasy world along with his classmates. They are tasked with saving mankind and all except him are gifted with powerful abilities. After getting betrayed on an expedition by his classmate, he ends up barely surviving the fall to a bottomless abyss where all kinds of monstrous creatures reside.

3. Elfen Lied

  • Genres: Action, Horror, Psychological, Supernatural, Drama, Romance, Seinen
  • Episodes: 13

Similarities

The main reason why I find them similar is because of how the main protagonists get revenge on people who hurt them in the past.

It is bloody, gory, and dark. Simply put, it’s BRUTAL.

Synopsis

Two university students come across a seemingly harmless girl named Lucy, unaware that she’s actually a mutant serial killer with a split personality.

2. Goblin Slayer

  • Genres: Action, Adventure, Fantasy
  • Episodes: 12

Similarities

Both are dark fantasy anime where the main character goes through a lot of psychological trauma and decides to get revenge for his life purpose.

They both contain gore and suggestive content.

Synopsis

A young priestess forms an adventurous party with other inexperienced members to eradicate the goblin’s nest but her party gets completely wiped out and she is left surrounded and wounded, in no condition to fight.

That’s when a man in battle-scarred armor arrives and brutally slaughters all goblins, saving her in the process. His name is Goblin Slayer and he has only one purpose in life—to eradicate all goblins.

1. Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (The Rising of the Shield Hero)

  • Genres: Action, Adventure, Drama, Fantasy
  • Episodes: 25

Similarities

The most similar anime to Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi is The Rising of the Shield Hero. Honestly, these two are almost the same except for the fact that Redo of Healer is worse in terms of quality & story. Consider this a major upgrade!

The Rising of the Shield Hero is also set in a medieval fantasy world and the main protagonist is considered the weakest regarding his abilities, just like in Redo of Healer. He gets betrayed by a cruel princess but does not give up and becomes overpowered. He later also gets demi-human cuties as his loyal companions (one of them is also from a slave trader, so the same as in Redo of Healer).

Now, this is where they differ. While Redo of Healer focuses on the main protagonist getting brutal revenge, The Rising of the Shield Hero’s main character decides to prove them wrong while still sticking to high moral standards.

Synopsis

Naofumi Iwatani, an ordinary Japanese boy, gets summoned to an alternate world as a “Shield Hero”, the weakest out of the four summoned heroes. Their sole purpose in this world is to fight inter-dimensional hordes of monsters called Waves.

Unfortunately, not all that glitter is gold. Not only is his equipment the weakest, but he also gets betrayed by the sole companion who agrees to follow him on his journey. The future looks grim until he stumbles upon a tanuki demi-human girl and a mysterious egg that later hatches into a bird-like creature.

  1. But who would ever search “anime similar to redo of healer”?…. Wait no, I swear I’m here for research purposes.

That aside, it’s certainly really hard to find anything close to redo of healer, but I like that you could find similarities with something like Tensura or Re:Zero other than the fact that they are fantasy animes. Also Elfen Lied, that was really unexpected xD
