#10 Kaguya and Miyuki received the same diagnosis at the hospital

They are both suffering from being lovestruck/love-sick!

#9 She is sensitive to strong stimuli

Kaguya has a higher tendency to experience unpleasant effects resulting from strong sensory stimulation like loud noises.

#8 Kaguya’s fond of her sister-in-law

We all know that the Shinomiya family is everything but nice. That is, except for her sister-in-law. She’s the only Shinomiya member who’s shown kindness to Kaguya.

#7 Her Twitter account doesn’t contain her surname

This is to hide the Shinomiya name.

#6 She has developed a sleep-deprived glare obsession

In Volume 7 Extras, Kaguya stated that she used to dislike Miyuki’s glaring eyes. We all know how that ended up…

As Ai states, after being tainted by a man, Kaguya has developed a strange glare fetish. But only when it comes to Miyuki!

She simply adores his sleep-deprived glare way too much!

#5 Kaguya loves dogs & shortcakes

I know kinda random but makes her more human in my eyes.

A shortcake is a sweet cake layered with strawberries and whipped cream. The Japanese variation uses a sponge cake base and is a popular holiday treat.

#4 She is left-handed

Kaguya is actually left-handed, but she has been trained to write and eat with her right hand.

This is interesting because historically speaking, many lefties were retrained to use their right hand because people thought that it was an indication that they would develop a mental illness later in life.

#3 Her blood type is AB

AB blood is pretty rare, accounting for only around ~4% of the total distribution of blood.

AB individuals are believed to be empathetic, thoughtful, and creative. They also have exceptional analytical and logical skills.

#2 Kaguya’s birthday

Kaguya is 17 years old and was born on 1st January, which makes her a Capricorn.

Capricorns are practical, independent, and self-reliant. They are known for being hard workers, always aiming to better themselves.

#1 Her name’s meaning

Kaguya’s surname Shinomiya means “four” (shi) and “temple, shrine, palace” (miya).

Her given name Kaguya translates into “radiant night” or “moon princess”. According to behind the name, the name originates from the Japanese story “Tale of the bamboo cutter.”

Where a bamboo cutter finds a girl in a bamboo stalk and adopts her. When she grows up she is extremely beautiful and five princes ask for her hand in marriage. She rejects them all and sends them out on impossible missions. The emperor also asks for her hand but she rejects him as well. In the end, Kaguya is taken back to the moon where she was born as the princess of the moon.
