Emilia, the main heroine of a popular isekai series Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World is a widely known anime character. She is beautiful, kind, and gentle, and doesn’t fit into any generic tropes. Emilia not only comes from one of the most popular dark fantasy anime but is almost as famous as Rem, the most loyal and protective maid you can find in the world of anime. Emilia has around 35 000 fans on MAL, while Rem has over 44 000. I chose to compile 10 intriguing facts about Emilia because I do believe she deserves more love and I’m sure Re:Zero fans will love it.
Let’s get started!
10. She has the highest capacity of mana in the world
When thinking about characters who can hold the most mana, you would maybe think of Roswaal L Mathers or Echidna. But those are still behind Emilia because according to Tappei Nagatsuki, the author of the light novel & manga Re:Zero, Emilia sits on “the mana throne”. The following characters have the highest mana pool after her: Roswaal, Echidna, Typhon, Carmilla, Daphne, Ferris, Priscilla, and Mimi.
9. Emilia is a terrible singer
Emilia is a poor singer but tries her best to improve her singing. This is revealed in Emilia and Ram’s Very Bumpy Master-Servant Relationship, a shop-exclusive limited edition short story. Ram, the twin of Rem, had no filter and told her that her singing sounded like birds that were getting brutally murdered. That same night, Ram rated Emilia’s singing 9 out of 100. 😀 Nevertheless, Ram kept helping Emilia to improve her singing night after night.
8. Her favorite color is purple
Emilia’s favorite color is purple because there seems to be a gentle memory in her impression.
The color purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition.
7. Emilia’s genderbent counterpart
Re:Zero IF are alternate timelines where Subaru decided to go down another path. It’s basically a collection of fanfics written by the author himself. In each of them, he falls to a different sin.
One of the chapters is called Mimigau IF, and everyone’s gender is reversed and their names are also changed. Emilia makes an appearance as a male silver-haired half-elf named Emilio!
6. She is one of the two persons who can unlock the Seal in the Elior Forest
While the identity of the other person who can unlock the Seal remains a mystery, we know for a fact that Emilia can do it as well.
The Seal of Elior is a place in the heart of the forest. The area around the seal is bordered by white trees, giving the impression that it is a sacred location. The seal itself resembles a double door that stands apart from any nearby structures or trees. It appears to be made of wood, is said to be extremely chilly to the touch, and when touched with the hand, feels like a polished gemstone. A rusty lock with a keyhole around the size of young Emilia’s hand is placed directly in the middle of the door.
5. She sucks at math
Emilia gets dizzy when she sees a lot of numbers listed. Same, girl!
4. Emilia is the mangaka’s favorite
One of the lesser-known facts about Emilia is that she is Tappei Nagatsuki’s favorite Re:Zero character. On one occasion, he even acknowledged that she was the main reason behind his decision to begin writing the novel in the first place. Emilia is placed top while all other Re:Zero characters are ranked second, despite his claim that he dislikes ranking his characters. He also stated that she is the series’ most attractive female character.
3. Her height
Emilia is five feet three inches (5’3″) or 160 cm tall, making her roughly a head shorter than Subaru Natsuki, who is 173 cm or 5’8″ tall. Since Emilia is a young lady who is physically 18 years old, she is 2 centimeters taller than an average Japanese woman in the same age range.
2. Emilia’s Birthday
Emilia’s birthday is September 23, which makes her zodiac sign Libra.
Libra energy is defined by harmony, fairness, and balance. Given that Libra is a cardinal air sign and that the scales are the only inanimate thing in the zodiac, this association emphasizes Libra’s obsession with finding the right balance. In all aspects of life, especially when it comes to matters of the heart, Libra is fascinated with symmetry and seeks to achieve equilibrium.
1. Her name’s meaning
Emilia is a feminine given name from Italy with Latin roots that means “rival,” “laborious,” or “eager.” The name is popular in both Europe and the Americas.
Emilio is the male equivalent of that name.
